Aug 6 Kettle Moraine

Originally I wasn’t planning on riding at all today due to temps in the 90s with dew points in the 70s. However, since it was supposed to rain on Sunday, I threw out the idea to ride in the morning to Kevin and he agreed to go.

We didn’t have a route planned, but when I got to his place I suggested going through the Kettles since hardly anyone else would be there either that early in the day. He also agreed to that too.

We headed out through St. Peter and Mount Calvary to drop down in Greenbush almost the furthest northern point of the Kettle Moraine. From there we just followed the Scenic Drive signs all the way to just north of West Bend where we veered away to head toward Kewaskum for Kevin to get gas and to get some breakfast at the Gateway Cafe.

By the time we left there it was getting pretty heat oppressive with all of the gear on, so I pretty much started heading home, but not without a drop down the ledge on Breakneck Road first.

After that he and Emily joined me for the afternoon to enjoy the pool at my place. Perfect afternoon for doing just that!
