Feb 6 Herd Game

My Sister’s company, Modern Woodmen of America, and coworker, Sara, hosted a member’s event to attend a Herd game at the Oshkosh Arena at significantly reduced prices. Finally, an event they were hosting which I was very interested in attending.

We (Lori, Val, Annette and I) dilly-dallied a bit at my place before leaving and didn’t get there until just as the game started, and only to find out purses weren't allowed. Luckly Lor and Val caught Annette and I to tell us this just as we were getting out of my car.

This was our first time attending anything at the Arena. I have attended quite a few Bucks games, which I greatly enjoyed and I figured a Herd game should be just as much fun. And… it was!!!

They had a suite reserved in the upper level for everyone. So, we had a bird’s eye view from the northeast corner or the court. Also near the entrance to the locker rooms.

At one point their mascot came up by us and prior to that I was calling him Bango, which is what the Buck’s mascot is. When I asked if we could get our photo with Bango, he/or she promptly turned around and pointed out their name on their jersey, Pointer. We were told he was Bango’s cousin. Well, I’m guessing it was a guy and he wasn’t too offended because he grabbed my hand and kissed it after our photo opp. ??? Blush, blush!

The only bummer was the Wisconsin Herd endied up losing to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, 113 to 110. Boo hoo! It appeared as though the Herd was getting tired near the end of the game, but still a very close game throughout most of it.

After the game Annette and I stopped at Parnell’s Place for their famous Sunday broasted chicken, which neither of us have been there for in many, many, many years. I ended up running into a couple people I knew there. One being a coworker of mine. Funny we have to go out of town to run into each other.

Another fun-filled day and weekend in the books.
