September 2 Wild Rose

Today I was planning on heading west and north. However, I did not plan the route as far north as originally intended. Instead of making it to Point or Wisconsin Rapids, I planned the route more west and then north to Wautoma and Wild Rose.

Today was the warmest day of the weekend, but still pretty cloudy most of the time. I am amazed how the weather PEOPLE can start out saying it is going to be sunny every day and then clouds and rain. I have learned that you can never trust them. As soon as I plan a day of riding for the nicest predicted weather day, it usually back-fires on me. Anyway today was nice and probably best it wasn’t sunny the whole time or it would have gotten too warm.

I originally planned to stop for lunch at Two20 in Wautoma since we’d arrive there right around noon, but then changed my mind to Lakeshore Family Restaurant when we stopped for gas in Wautoma. Which was good because Two20 was closed when we drove past it. I had eggs benedict since it was on the menu and it surely didn’t disappoint. Yum!

From Wautoma we headed to Wild Rose on Swamp Road and Hwy 22. Swamp Road was very cool and we have never been on it before. We took a bit of a loop out of Wild Rose too on Cty AA to P and A back to Wild Rose where we stopped at Roseville to feed the goats; however, they didn’t have any feed prepped for sale, so we just stopped by to pet them and let them chew on my coat. Hah!

From there we took some back roads around Nordic Mountain and eventually into Red Granite. From there we took a bunch of back roads we have never been on before and ended up in Eureka. From there we ended up on Cty M south to Olden Road, then Cty I back to town.

I am finally back in my groove and didn’t want to stop except my body was ready to be off the bike. Hopefully we have a really nice fall now that I am back in the groove and nothing is wrong with my bike. Knock on wood!!!
