July 17 Holy Hill

Kevin invited me to join him today for a “Meet to Eat” with his ST Group at the Mineshaft in Hartford.

We left town around 10 and took Hwy 45 and some back roads to get there. We were supposed to be there at 11:30 and we arrived around 11:20. Maryann set up the reservation for noon and we waited until then for the remainder of riders to show up. While waiting there several girls baseball teams showed up, including what appeared to a group for a wedding shower (all ladies). When we decided to go in at noon another group of 20 showed up that had a reservation. Maryann caught a little flack from the hostess because we now had 13 instead of 12, which I thought was very rude. Anywho, they sat us pretty quickly after that. However, due having a larger group and how busy they were, it took quite a while to get our food. While sitting at our table I suddenly noticed my Sista on the TV scrolling ads in front of me. Hah! Good marketing Sista!

By the time we ate and paid it was going on 2 p.m. and I had planned a route around Holy Hill, but when we got closer I decided to actually stop in there since it has been a long time since I have done so. We walked up to the deck to look around and take some photos and then off we went.

I had planned a bunch of back roads to Hustisford and then Horicon with a planned stop for ice-cream at the Ice Cream Station. We were still pretty full from lunch and believe it or not, had a hard time finishing our ice-cream.

From there I didn’t plan the remainder of the route and because it was getting so late, and I had plans to meet a friend for dinner and to watch the Bucks game, we took more of direct route back to town.

Although not as much riding as usual, we still put in some pretty good miles and enjoyed spending time with Kevin’s group.
