Oct 2 Port Washington

My thoughts today for riding consisted of taking the bike to my friend Scott’s place to pick up the shorts I left there when I washed my bike a few weeks ago, and with hopes he’d want to ride too. Before contacting him to confirm, I received a call from Kevin asking what I was up to and I invited him to join us if we planned on riding or just to ride to Scott’s and continue from there. Well right after that, Scott called me with the suggestion to go to Port Washington to see if the fall season salmon were spawning near the power plant. And so, that is how I ended up back in Port again this season.

Kevin met me at my place and we met Scott around 12:30. We had plans to eat lunch, but didn’t want to wait until we arrived in Port. So, with that said, we opted for El Pig’s Butt in Kewaskum.

From there we took Hwy 28 east to Oak Road and Cty H east to Cty Z/I to Cty A into Fredonia and then KK into Port.

Unfortunately due to the much warmer temps (80s) than usual for this time of year, the salmon weren’t spawning. Only seen a couple of them.

From there Kevin and I split up from Scott since it was getting a bit late in the day and for him, he would take mostly a different direction home.

We saw so many beautiful fall colors north of Port and east of Kewaskum, but I didn’t stop to take any photos of them. Should have though because some of them were pretty spectacular! We even found one road we don’t think we’ve ever been on before, near the Kettles and south of Cty H.
