August 25 Shawano

The weather is starting to cool down and we’re starting to see some fall colors on the maples, including pretty cool evenings and mornings. So we planned a much needed ride for today to Shawano. We left around 9:30 so it was a somewhat cool start. No airflow gear today. I planned our route the night before to make it into Shawano around noon for lunch at the Farm Inn on Main. They have excellent eggs benedict!

I had planned a lot of county roads for the way up there and realized I was not comfortable with all the stopping and starting. My reconstructed right wrist and right elbow which I think I have tennis elbow in weren’t having much of it either. It was getting painful and making me tense and that is not something you should be feeling when on two wheels.

At the restaurant we planned a more direct route home because of that and we were both extremely tired. It turned out to be a very nice ride, but I need to get more serious about looking into other bike options. I have almost 50,000 on mine and the older I get, I seem to get more uncomfortable on it. Ugh!
