September 1 Watertown

Planned another ride for today, 2nd day of Labor Day weekend. Still not as warm as it was originally supposed to be but better than yesterday. Today we planned to pick up Alan in West Bend and he invited his friend Glenn. We left Fondy around 10:00 and rode east on Fourth Street Road to connect with Cty G south through Dundee and part of the Kettles before meeting them at the Micky D’s in West Bend around 11:15. From there I had planned to head to Watertown for lunch at Two Sisters Cafe and I have to say that was a very good choice on my part.

From there we headed south of Hwy 94 to Cty B & BB into Cottage Grove before heading north on Cty N. We eventually ended up in Cambria where we stopped for a stretch, chat and for Alan and Glenn to decide where to fall off to head back towards West Bend. At that point they decided to take Hwy 33 back, so I changed our route to take Hwy 33 into Fox Lake for stop at Karen’s Hip Hop Diner for ice-cream, which we did and had some more time to visit. From there we split up with Kevin and I heading back through Waupun and Horicon Marsh. Long day, but only around 200 miles. Tomorrow I need to plan a route west and north.

It feels so good to be getting in some really good seat time on the bike again and I haven’t had any issues like I did last weekend. However, I have been Bio-freezing the tennis elbow and bad wrist which must be helping. Yay!!!
