September Northwest Trip

A group of us were scheduled to head to Washington state to visit four of our locations. I have been so lucky with weather almost every time I have been to the Seattle area. This trip it was sunny, clear, very low dew points and in the 70s during the day. Perfect weather! We flew into Seattle, so this trip I was able to get a bird’s eye view of the needle and downtown, including the stadiums. Our first visit was to Kent, then Kirkland and Marysville, which we drove to and back. From Seattle we flew into Olympia to spend the night for our planned visit to our Tumwater location the next day. That evening we went to dinner at Anthony’s Hearthfire and watched a freighter ship come into the Budd Inlet harbor after dinner. Food (swordfish) was excellent! Later that evening it was brought up that since we were so close to our Woodland CA location, and we would have enough time the next day, we should go there too. Well after some calls to the pilots and the other guy still in Kent, that is exactly what we did. Woodland wasn’t really much more different from Wisconsin as far as landscape, except it was very dry, a few palm trees and the mountains off in the distance. On the way home I was able to get a south-side view of Mt. Rainier, St. Helens, Adams and Hood. We really covered lots of ground this trip in two days. Very successful trip!
