Christmas

Since I wasn’t going to see Lori and the girls over Christmas weekend, we made plans for me to go to Lori’s the Sunday before Christmas to have our gift exchange, dinner (ham on the grill) and decorate cookies. We had a very nice visit and a serious game of Canadian Poker. I also believe everyone really enjoyed my gifts. This year I really tried to put some thought into each of them and I also told Vanessa and Joy, no gift cards!

On Christmas Eve Day I ventured to Winona to spend Christmas with Canders and to visit Dad’s resting place. No inclement weather for the trip there or back. In fact there wasn’t any snow even there for Christmas. Which I do like the snow; just hate driving in it with my car.

We went to Dad’s gravesite Christmas day after exchanging our gifts. I wasn’t sure if the Minnesota Veteran’s Administration would have wreaths placed on the gravesites, although I did donate towards it since Candy sent me the link for that. So, I brought our own just in case. Much to surprise, each of the gravesites were donning one. Very breathtaking and heartwarming to see all of them!

We ended up watching the end of the Packers game that evening, had a real nice meal and watched a movie. Note, I could have cared less about the Packers game, but it was something to do to kill time. I haven’t watched a game in around two years and do not feel like I am missing anything. Especially near the end of the year when I would rather be out on the bike.

As usual, it was sad to leave MN, but I had a wonderful visit with Canders.
