August 31 Cleveland (WI)

Now that I know my gas leak was just a stuck carburetor float and nothing more than that, I have been starting to ride my bike more again. Took it a couple of weeks ago to see Scott and join him for the Beaver Dam fair and last weekend with Kevin to Shawano.

With my Dad’s fast approaching birthday and plans to go up there next weekend to celebrate it with him, I have been on the look for some really neat stones. He has always been fascinated by rocks. Since he’s in a home he has no access to touch or even really see them up close. My thoughts were to put together a small rock (stone) collection for him. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find a place accessible and not private property to find some really nice ones. I already stole some from Scott’s landscaping, but wanted more variety and thought of my favorite place to skip rocks…. Hika Bay in Cleveland WI along Lake Michigan. So that is where I planned our ride for today with a stop for lunch at Farm Wisconsin. Then we headed west and back down along Lake Winnebago to Fondy with a stop by Mom’s tree at Lakeside Park.

It was pretty windy and chilly at times with hardly any sun. Glad that I wore my non-vented jacket. Too cool even for stop for ice-cream today. Hope to plan longer rides for tomorrow and Monday with nice/warmer weather.
