March 20 Sheboygan Marsh

Next

Although the roads aren’t as clean as I prefer, I decided to get the bike out for my first ride of the season since it was going to be sunny and high 50s, but somewhat breezy. Kevin was already out last weekend, but game again today. I wasn’t quite certain where to go except maybe Eurika or Sheboygan Marsh, but opted for the latter since it was going to be around lunch time and Three Guys and A Grill is right there.

Good thing Kevin brought along his battery charger since the trickle charger didn’t provide enough juice over winter to keep my brand new battery charged.

Once we got it charged and started we headed to the nearest gas station to get some air in my tires, then off for a ride through Lakeside Park, east along Lake Winnebago, through Saint Peter, Calvary, Saint Cloud and back roads from there to the Marsh.

When we arrived we stopped by the dam so I could take a photo of my bike there and to post it to FB asking my brother, Steve, if he knew where I was because he recently had a Ditter moment falling in near there and breaking his ankle.

It didn’t take him long to respond where we were and while we were eating lunch he posted that he and Nick were actually on their way there to do some fishing. While we were paying for lunch Kevin spotted them pulling in across from the dam by the look-out tower and by the time we were walking out they had come around.

It was a very nice impromptu visit with both of them.

From there we went in and out of Elkhart Lake by Quit Qui Oc Golf Course and south of Hwy 23 and back north into Greenbush before dropping south into the Kettle Moraine, then Hwy 67 into Armstrong and Hwy 45 through Eden back to Fondy.

Only 80 miles, but a descent enough ride for late start, visit with Steve and Nick, and not really being warm.

Now where to for tomorrow?
