Sept 18 Elkhart Lake

I had made plans today to ride with a gal who recently acquired her license through the motorcycle course at the local tech and Kevin called the night before to ask if I was riding today, so I offered for him to join us. Which he did.

It was a beautiful day, 70s and sunny. I started my morning with my usual walk out at Lakeside Park which is where I took the photo below of some clouds that looked like waves in the sky over the harbor.

We met up with Andrea at her place around 11:30 with intentions of taking old 4th street road out of town to have lunch at Three Guys & A Grill in Sheboygan Marsh just outside of Elkhart Lake. I planned to take all back roads since Andrea is still working on getting comfortable. However, realized that when we got to Hwy 23 on Cty A in Greenbush, that you cannot cross there any longer. I suppose because of the fact it will be a four lane highway they are eliminating as many cross intersections as possible. You could do a U-turn at some points to get back to it, but I didn’t want to do that to Andrea and luckily found that you can still turn off onto Cty S which is a super fun twisty road which comes into Glenbeulah from the south. From there we took Cty C/J to the Marsh and stopped for lunch.

On the way back we went by St. Cloud and through Mt. Calvary, and then around the back side of Taycheedah Prison because Cty UU was also capped off, or I should say all gravel and closed near Hwy 23.

Not much for miles, but still a beautiful day to be out and glad I was able to finally get in a ride with Andrea.
